On the Humans10 mark
A word on the name and the symbol itself, not the charter's argument: what the small raised 10 means.
We write it Humans10 — humans raised to the power of ten.
Not addition. Technology does not add a fixed amount to a person; at its best it amplifies what is already there, and amplification compounds. The right tools do not make you a little more capable; they raise your reach exponentially. That is the promise of the Age of Intelligence, and the reason it must stay pointed at the human rather than away from them.
The exponent is written in the machine's own alphabet. A 1 and a 0 are the entire vocabulary of binary, the bit itself. So the 10 is humanity rendered in the language of intelligence, and amplified by it.
And it is ten, exactly: the ten principles of this charter. The same numeral that measures the power names the terms on which we accept it.
Humans, raised to the power of ten.
